Writing poetry and prose from the age of 14, Shivani began crafting her early pieces on the rooftops of her home in New Delhi during sunset. Inspired by light, nature, cityscapes, and the passage of time, her work reflects themes of nostalgia, melancholy, spirituality, and healing.

Her debut poetry book, To the Homes That We Are, written between the ages of 14 and 24, explores grief, meditation, pain, friendship, migration, and recovery. The book is sold internationally and at The Common Press and The Scarlett Letters in London. Shivani has collaborated with organisations such as Rich Mix London and Creative Peaks to exhibit her poems and has performed pieces from her book at festivals like Lost in the Hills. She has also shared her creative insights through talks at the University of Brighton, focusing on her journey as a poet and creative of colour, and has been featured in DominAsian Magazine, Music is 4 Lovers and Music Crowns.
